This is pretty much viral at this point but I feel it's one of the more brazen videos I've seen regarding police misconduct.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
The officer has been charged with a version of a felony assault charge and was fired.

Ugh. As a black male and father that is my worst nightmare. My only question is how the brother got out of the car. Did the officer ask him to or did he get out on his own? I have police officer relatives and when a person gets out of their car without being told to, they get REALLY anxious. I personally not only don't get out of the car, but keep my doors locked and windows rolled up when pulled over. I only roll down my window enough to pass my license and registration to the officer and then roll it back up.

Terrible.
I desperately want TMZ or the like to get their hands on the video from the walmart shooting in Ohio. Police get a 911 call about a black man "terrorizing" the store with a rifle. Police come in and promptly shoot the man. The rifle turns out to be an air rifle sold by the store. The man who called 911 recanted his statement about the man terrorizing shoppers and admits he'd just been walking around the store with it. The lawyer for the victim's family has watched the security footage and said that when the police arrived the victim was leaning on the air rifle, butt on the ground, barrel straight up, not remotely pointing it at anyone, and the police still shot him immediately on sight. And to top off this fucked up tale, a grand jury has just decided to clear the officers of all charges. The prosecution did not show them the security footage. Seriously, what the fuck is that nonsense?
ETA: I forgot to mention, Ohio is an open carry state. So even if it was a real rifle and not a pellet gun he had every legal right to be walking around with it.

Good reason to shoot someone I guess, maybe not the best reason.

I thought it looked like he was getting out of the car when the police car pulled up.

Like thedevilinside said, it looks to me like he was already out/getting out when the officer pulled up. I don't think he'd even noticed the officer (or at least didn't expect the cop to be coming for him) when he started getting out.

Found some more info on CNN. Wasn't really looking for it, but just noticed the headline.

Thanks for that, I hadn't seen that video yet, and it made me do a little searching, and bam, full original video. And after watching it (police arrive at 1:23 in the video if you want to see it yourself) HOLY FUCK IS THAT BULLSHIT. He didn't "refuse to comply/ignore the officers," they didn't give him a chance to respond. There's only about a single second between them making their presence known and opening fire. He didn't have time to even start to turn, in any direction, let alone put the gun down.
And again, there's still the fact that even if the gun were real he would have the legal right to carry it in Ohio, a point that gun rights advocates have been increasingly intent on demonstrating lately.
(Speaking of which, where the hell is the NRA to weigh in on this? Shouldn't they be screaming at the top of their lungs about how his civil rights were violated? Because to me their silence is deafening.)
